If you are looking for an authentic Lebanese Cuisine, then look no further as Sumac Haute Cuisine recently opened chic place is the one to go for. From an ambience stand point its quaint and pleasant vibes and can sit ~ 30-40 pax with mezzanine floor accommodating for private dining upto ~15 people. Menu is versatile where in apart from Lebanese you also see some North Indian dishes being served (plus point).
We ordered mocktails i.e. Passion Colada (Rating 4.5/5) and Non Sparkling Bellini (Rating 4/5). Beautifully presented, balanced on sweetness and refreshing inhouse mocktail to try. My fav was Passion Colada.
In appetizers we tried Mouhamara (Rating 5/5), Spanakopita (Rating 5/5) and Adana Kebab (Rating 5/5). Mouhamara which is a hot pepper dip is usually a part of Turkish cuisines is either accompanied with kebabs or breads. Out here we were served with Pita breads. Perfect blend of pepper, olive oil (I suppose), nuts and pomogrenate. Spanakopita is a Greek savory spinach pie in shape of samosas covered in phyllo sheets, real yum. Adana kebab were beautifully presented and equally deliciously cooked too. Perfect blend of spices and mince and roasted really well. I recommend all 3 starters to try.
In mains we had Awadhi Matka Biryani (Rating 5/5). One word for this Delicious. Cooked in long grain rice, with smokey aroma and prepped in Ghee (I believe so), it was the star of our lunch. It really had sucha perfect taste in each bite because of well covered masala across the entire matka of biryani. I highly recommend this.
We ended with Baklava (Rating 5/5) and Kanafeh (Rating 5/5). I have had these two at several places and many five star places. I can easily claim that theirs is as good as any five star places. It’s a must must order atleast for once to know how true baklava tastes (p.s. you will be in for a visual treat too, the way the create icecream live at your table).
All in all an amazing place to be and spend your family time. They gave sucha warm experience and small yet very important things like “palate cleansers – to cleanse your taste before the main course” and the most innovative Paan concept (you gotta be there till the end to experience it) are some of the memories am taking back with me. I rate this place a 5.
