Love the delicious flavours of the South? Thangabali, the newest entrant in the ever-growing list of restaurants in Mumbai, is set to present delicacies from four South Indian states at pocket-friendly prices.

Tell Me More

Located in the heart of Mahim, Thangabali is a South Indian eatery that is inspired by the flavours of four southern states – Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, The delectable specialties from each of the regions have been perfectly brought down to Mumbai to give the locals here a taste of the southern awesomeness.

Designed to house approximately 55 people, the interiors of the restaurant are simple, yet quirky – think Kathakali wall murals, southern scenery and more. The place is spacious and offers privacy to all diners, and is certainly nothing like your go-to south Indian restaurants {nope, not the Udupi you’re used to}.

Encouraging the concept of eating with five fingers, the food at Thangabali is both indulgent and well priced. Some of the signature dishes include nalli massam with appam, veg chemmeen theeyal, gongura maas, crab omelette kari, pulled chicken uthappam, royyala iguru and a lot more. We definitely suggest trying their delish prawns curry and Hyderabadi mutton biryani or the bisi bele bhaat {yum!}. Wash down your food with some tasty sol kadi and end the meal with paal payasam or the caramel custard.

There’s no alcohol here, so go with the agenda to eat, eat and eat. The food is humbly priced and a meal for two here will cost you INR 800.

So, We're Saying...

The restaurant opens to the public on May 23 {today}, so go ahead and gorge on some delectable delights and emerge out as happy souls.
