One of the best hill stations I have visited. The sheer beauty of it takes your breath away...along with the long walk. Taking a train till Neral and then catching a seat at any of the numerous share taxis is the easiest way to reach the foothills of Matheran. After that it's about 45 mins walk to the main market area through the forest. Would definitely recommend staying overnight at any of the budget hotels as otherwise it will be too hectic
