Chipotle? What’s That?
That’s what you’ll be telling all your US-return pals once you’ve had a bite of the quesadillas here. Mexican Express is a cosy Mexican restaurant that opened up in Bandra’s Pali Hill a couple of months ago. On the menu, they have home-made chips with either sriracha sour cream, guacamole or salsa toppings. Or you can go all out for the chips tower aka nachos here. They have burritos {with fillings like fajita veggies, potatoes, mushroom, tofu}, burrito bowls, quesadillas, enchilladas and tacos on the menu – each having multiple options for fillings.
Holy Guacamole
We ordered in a portion of black bean tacos and corn tacos, and got a secure parcel home, with 8 small boxes with the filling, cheese, sour cream, guac, salsa and more as well as the hard-shelled tacos given to us, like a DIY taco kit {this isn’t the way they serve at the restaurant, of course – only to avoid making it soggy during delivery}. After assembling the ingredients, we munched into the taco only to go for multiple repeats. The flavours together were bang-on, and we loved the choppy guacamole used.
We didn’t order in dessert, but they have churros, of course and Nutella quesadilla on the menu. Prices are semi reasonable, we don’t mind shelling out INR 270 for the tacos as they’re filling, and the rest also under the INR 300 mark.
P.S. It’s a vegetarian-only menu, but don’t let that make you say ‘holy guacamole’ in disappointment! The taste and freshness of the ingredients totally makes up for it in case you are a meat-lover.
So, We're Saying...
Now we’ve got to go, because as Ross exclaimed – *ting* the fajitas are ready, and everything is just fine!
