I had an afternoon meeting at the World Trade Center at Cuffe Parade after which I decided to explore the premises for my midday meal. Found this rather quaint 20-odd seater called Big Daddy, snug in between an ice cream parlour in a library, They have an elaborate Lebanese menu and, as I was told, is now supplemented with a little Italian and Bhutanese momos and thukpa. And that is what I ordered. The chicken momo meal - it comes with a nice spicy soup. Also, they serve a bud tingling spicy garlic dip and something that I haven’t found elsewhere in the city - ginger threads soaked in dark vinegar, boy did I finish the whole meal, and then was greedy enough to order a small shawarma with a whole wheat pita. Was completely full by then, when I got a fresh waft of heavenly Chennai filter coffee, chicory et al. Just couldn’t ask for one. Worth every hot sip I’d say. All in all, I only paid INR 500. Surely going back for the kebab grills and what the owner called the 'skin thin pizzas'. As I walked out an order of fresh strawberries and ice cream passed by, ordered by the neighbouring table, and that looked awesome!
