While in Kemp's Corner, we met owner-designer Priyanka Kori whose store Mon Amour offers a curated selection of ethnic and indo-western wear. With an online presence on Instagram and Facebook, this is her first retail outlet.
While browsing the store, we found gorgeous formal wear for weddings, engagements and parties. From simple yet elegant styles like the yellow kurta with a matching dupatta at INR 4,400 to the stunning georgette number with all-over embroidery and zari work at INR 14,000 and a soft pink lehenga set with hand-crafted bead detailing at INR 18,000 the price range varies. There are also more contemporary and western styles like the orange tailored top with flowing palazzos at INR 3,000 for the set.
While the store is largely focused on women's wear there is also a selection of men's clothing, mainly kurtas. The store is also set to launch a collection of cocktail and party gowns in the coming week, so do keep updated on their socials. Complete customisation is also possible, where you can sit down and discuss what you'd like designed right from the fabric to the style and design with Priyanka, though these would of course be pricier than buying off the rack!
