How to reach Bhandardara?
First reach Kasara by local or express train and take any ST going to Akole, Sangamner or Bhandardara. Reach Bhandardara aka Shendi. I'd suggest to eat something at Shendi/Bhandardara, Bhandardara MTDC can be a good option for eating and freshening up before starting your journey to Arthur Lake, it's advisable to take parcel if necessary.
Then Hire a boat, only if you're traveling with large group, it'll reduce the cost, it costs around 800-1500 for return journey (Next mornings), if you're not taking boat then take Jeep to „Mutkhel Phata”, it might cost 10-30rs and then take a walk and find perfect place for pitching your tents. After pitching tents, enjoy your time in water, waiting for witness a perfect sunset on Arthur Lakeshore. One can prepare bonfire and spend night under a open sky by star gazing. Get up early in the morning and have some fun with your group in the water. Once you are done with fun water activities. Call for your boat ride and reach Bhandardara before 10:00AM. As there's a ST bus to Kasara at 10:30.
Other option is to walk 4-5kms and save some bucks, On my first visit to Bhandardara, I do have saved few bucks. For now I preferred Jeep to „Mutkhel Phata” and search for a perfect place, which takes around 10-15 mins of walk. If you have opted for Jeep or Walking option then „Mutkhel Phata” is the best place for you, because from here you can get direct ST to Kasara. Ask local people and be sure of timings for ST, if I was you then I'd choose to returned after camping at Mutkhel Phata before 12pm, if I missed 9AM's ST.
