A Glass Dome With A View

Us as Mumbaikars have always enjoyed the concept of open-air dining by the sea and this dream of actually doing it, with a killer view, might finally come true.

You may soon be able to enjoy the starry sky from a glass floatel overlooking the Bandra-Worli sea link with the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) approving a proposal for a floating restaurant made of glass, according to this report.

The floatel, that's expected to come up by April this year, is going to be set up on a barge that will be anchored at Mahim Bay, so you get to dine with a gorgeous view.

The report also mentions that the floatel can accommodate about 360-390 people, including staff. They're planning to have a restaurant and an upper deck that can be used as a lounge.

It's a great time to be in the city, what with two floatels operational already and two more being planned in Borivali and Belapur. We truly hope that we get to enjoy a grand meal right by the sea come this April.
