Ten-Second Takeaway
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya is hosting an exhibition starting October 27, and here's why it could be interesting to check out.
What Is It?
It's Mumbai's only mummy, which dates back to being approximately 2000 years old and it's going to be on display till January 4th. The mummy has been in the museum collection from the early 20th century. The exhibition, called Mummy: An Unsolved Mystery — Conserving Mumbai’s Egyptian Treasures aims to take you way way back into history. The mummy seems to be male and the coffin was crafted from a single log of Egyptian cedar wood with hinges meant to keep the coffin together.
Who Is It For?
If you're an avid pursuer of history and would like to see something we've only read in text, this might interest you.
Why Should I go?
It's a time-bound exhibition where you'll get a closer look at the Egyptian way of life {death, actually}. If that gets your attention, we'll see you there.
