Forget Tinder, LetsTuneup is a unique dating app, and it’ll match you with a person based on your music preferences.

How Good Is Your Music Taste?

LetsTuneup has been designed by Mumbai-based Jude Pereira. Since music is a huge part of Jude’s life, he decided to convert that knack into a start-up with Matchbox – now called LetsTuneup.

The app {then MatchBox} was launched on Christmas Eve in 2016. After the app got accepted for Facebook’s FbStart Program under the bootstrap track, it has expanded its user base even more. On an average, they have around 4,000 monthly users across Mumbai, Pune, and even other countries like Brazil.

How Does It Work?

The app works on a simple algorithm. It scans the music collection on your device – the artists, bands and songs. The more similar the taste, the more are your chances of getting a higher match rate with people out there on the app.

There is also an option of choosing your favourite artists {which are trending near you}, and on basis of that see your match quotient with others. Once you venture into the app’s world, you can either choose to match with people or move on. It’s fun, and you end up finding people with similar interests as you. Though the matches are as good as your own music library.

What We Love

Sure, there are Tinder, Bumblee, TrulyMadlyDeeply and many other dating apps out there in the market. However, LetsTuneup takes it up a notch higher {literally}.

Do you love Bon Jovi or Madonna? Is Bieber your jam, or is it Pearl Jam on loop for you? You can match with people who share similar music interests as you sans all that judgement. Also good for? Breaking the ice!

However, one important catch with the app is you do not have the option of deleting your account on the spot. Instead, you need to email them. Post which, they promptly delete your account and information.

So, We're Saying...

It’s not just a dating app, but also a great way to meet new people and engage with their music. They’ll be rolling out more features such as matches based on your genre {even though the bands may be different}. Get the music playing then?
