With NYE coming closer, and the year coming to an end (finally!) there's another reason for all of us to give in to gastronomical delights. And the fact that we cannot really party all night this year, brings us closer to our second and best alternative, that is, to wine and dine with our friends and family. While we're at it, we might as well walk into the best in the city. So here's a round-up of some of the most happening restaurants serving delectable festive menus, special brunches and dinners. All you've got to do is make that reservation, and dig in. Bon Appétit! 

Yum Cha @ KOKO, Lower Parel

Yum Cha in Cantonese means to drink your tea, with the beverage forming an essential element of the food fiesta. KOKO in Lower Parel has organized a special Cantonese-style lunch and dinner that involves refreshing Chinese tea and dimsums too.  Their Asian delicacies are presented in small portions, and the steamed, pan-fried, or deep-fried dim sums are served in bamboo steamers. Lip-smacking dishes like the Smoked Cheese & Scallion Dumpling, Pan Fried Turnip Cakes, Asparagus & Shiitake Cheung Fun, KOKO Spare Ribs, Har Gow, Sui Mai, Chicken Longhai Dumpling are not just flavorful but they're also paired with delicate, artisanal teas like Geisha Green Tea, Chinese Jasmine Green Tea, White Bud Yin Zhen Tea and Organic Matcha Tea. 

What Not To Miss: The Happy Belly Tea, which contains Fennel Seeds, Dry Peppermint Leaves, Calendula, Mallow, Chamomile, Anise, Caraway Seeds, to soothe your body mind and soul.

Bonenkai Japanese 6-Course Meal @ Sesami, Powai

Every December in Japan, as the year comes to an end, groups of friends and companies gather for Bonenkai, or “forget the year" parties. These gatherings allow everyone to say goodbye to the year in unison, and this year we need a Bonenkai more than ever. Sesami, on December 30th, is hosting a scrumptious Bonenkai dinner for its guests. The restaurant is offering a 6-course sit-down meal and a complimentary glass of wine to go with it. Start the evening with their Miso soup, have some salads, gorge on some prawn tempura, and end it with a fresh strawberry Japanese cheesecake. The tastefully designed ambience that exudes calm and peace is sure to make guests feel comfortable and add to the theme of a Bonenkai dinner.

What Not To Miss: The Soba noodle salad, the seafood and pork ramen bowl, and the Ebi Tempura Maki sushi

Celebratory Dinner @ Ishaara, Lower Parel

Ishaara is offering a specially curated Celebratory menu with regal and gobsmacking Indian meal options. Choose from a range of canapes, Goats Cheese Peppers, Mushroom Galouti, Paneer Panch Phoran Tikka, and Tandoori Baby Potatoes. The Amritsari Fish Tikka, Cocktail Lamb Samosa, Black Pepper Malai Chicken Tikka and Gilafi Lamb seekh are truly drool-worthy options too. For mains, you could dig into some Raw Mango Prawn Curry, Srilankan Lamb Curry, Bricklane Chicken Vindaloo, Ishaara Butter Chicken or the Winter Vegetable Biryani, and so much more. End your meal with the Flourless Chocolate Brownie, Gajar Halwa Crumble, Sugar-Free Sitaphal Pannacotta or the classic Malai Kulfi.

The restaurant's team has curated a special South Indian Brunch menu for you that's absolutely enticing. Choose from a variety of starters including Mini Gun Powder Idlis, Arbi Ghee Roast, or Parrupu Vada (paired best with their inhouse cocktails) Tanjore makes the softest appam you’ll ever have with hot piping stew, Tamil-style peas masala, Chicken Chettinad, Mutton Khorma, Sivagami’s Crab Kolumbu, to just name a few. In addition, the menu also offers scrumptious seafood options for you to indulge in. Sip on the signature cocktails like Garden Galata or LIIT, Tamil Surprise, Pondicherry Punch, and Guava Mary while you devour the delicious spread.

Hasta La Vista Special Menu & Party @ Slink & Bardit, Worli

It's going to be an action-packed evening at Worli's Slink & Bardot. Right from a DJ playing disco, house and techno to special NYE menu, there's so much to see, eat, and experience. The menu features Portobello & Soy Sliders, Avocado Tartine with sweet potato hummus, Birria Tacos with house corn tortillas, short rib, avocado, guajillo & poblano consommé, Duck Liver Donuts with pickled fennel flower, Pork Belly with smoked pepper, confit sauerkraut and more. End the meal with their Crème Brûlée Doughnuts with Coorg vanilla, Boston cream or the And Then I Ate the Zest with lemon and dark chocolate ganache. 

What Not To Miss: There's also a free-flowing liquor package where you can have drinks like All I Want For Christmas Is You- a combination of sparkling wine, Limoncello, strawberry, lavender bitters and vanilla cream.

'Bring On 2021' Special Brunch @ Qualia, Worli

This Worli hotspot has created an a-la-carte, all-day-brunch menu that is going to be equal parts hearty, satiating, and too delicious to not chomp on. Start with their bakery specials like Butter Croissants; Chili Cheese Croissants and Almond Croissants and move on to Sweet Potato Chestnut Pancake with caramelized onion, avocado, turmeric crème fraiche, Tofu Scramble with stewed cherry tomatoes, arugula served with smoked ciabatta, Breakfast Burrata topped with mushroom, spinach and cashew hollandaise served with a slice of sourdough, and Honey Sesame Halloumi served with jalapeno yoghurt, fruit and nut barley tabbouleh. Qualia’s specialty House Cocktails include Over The Wall, a concoction made of charred pineapple, Bhavnagri chili, agave and lime, which really is the showstealer!

What Not To Miss: If you're a lover of eggs, there's Shakshuka Verde, Turkish Eggs, Goan Chorizo Benedict and ‘Q’ Dutch Baby, which basically is a wood-fired savory Dutch pancake served with mushrooms, roast buff and a fried egg.

The menu is all French, chic and has a spectacular setting with an updated, contemporary twist. Say À votre santé as Soufflé S’il Vous Plaît presents a New Year’s special brunch experience with Eggs Florentine served on English muffins with brown butter, sautéed spinach and Hollandaise, Croissant & Pains Au Chocolat and Granola Parfait with yogurt, fresh fruit & raw wild forest honey, freshly made burgers and sandwiches like Arugula & Goat Cheese Croissant with pesto and oven-roast tomatoes, Smoked Salmon Croissant with Norwegian salmon, sour cream and chives and more.
