What Makes It Awesome?

I had this restaurant on my wish-list for a long time but just couldn't visit for a long time. Finally got a chance to visit in a winter evening. I thought of this place to be amazing at ambience but to my surprise, this was even better. The place is built like some restaurant built during the British time with solid construction and all walls painted white, art displayed on the walls, curtains on the see-through glass walls, etc. They have a separate bar section, a section for gigs and a restaurant section.

Tables had a table cloth and customized Veranda coaster. Our table was managed by Dipesh who was extremely knowledgeable and suggested some good options for us. The service is quick and perfect. We saw a table decorated for a couple for candlelight dinner with rose petals on the table. It was beautiful so give it a thought if you have any upcoming occasion that you want to celebrate here. They also serve amazing teas and coffees by TGL.

Drinks/Beverages

One of their highlights are mocktails hence we thought of trying a few. First up on the list is INDIAN SUNRISE which is a mixture of juices of Orange and Cranberry along with Peach and mint leaves. In the first sip, I felt the mocktail was too concentrated, but after I mixed it properly it felt refreshing. I love Oranges-based mocktails - they are the most refreshing in my opinion. What do you think?

The mocktail was served in a sling glass garnished with orange and mint leaves. The quantity is enough to last till you reach the Main course (if you are a slow eater like me), otherwise, it can last until desserts. Next one we opted for is my favourite here - SNOW WHITE CHOCOTINI. This was served in a Martini glass.

This is a heavenly combination of Lychee puree, fresh coconut, lime juice and liquid white chocolate. This was decorated with Apple slices on the rim and some flakes which looked like chocolate flakes. The taste was superb, the taste of coconut and chocolate was more evident. A must-try here if you like sweeter cocktails as opposed to refreshing cocktails.

One other thing you should try here is Tea/Coffee by TGL Luxury. You should probably try this before anything else because they are hot beverages. They have some of the finest collections of tea and coffee. Upon inquiring about the tea to order, Dipesh gave us a box of green teas to smell to choose from (see pics). We were very confused but we chose MOGO MOGO.

This green tea has no artificial flavours hence it is 100% Natural and contains tropical fruits and flowers. This was served in a large mug along with honey in a cute little glass. I tried first without the honey and it tasted and smelled so fresh, I felt that if all green teas were so good, I would have had it every day. Later I tried with honey and I felt that the actual flavour can be felt without honey even better. You can instead try their coffee as well.

Food

Veranda specializes in North Indian food and so Paneer had to be one of them - we started with COTTAGE CHEESE TRILOGY - this is a combination of three differently cooked paneer; Malai Paneer, Zafrani Paneer and Pudina Paneer. they serve one piece of each but it filling enough as the pieces are larger. It was presented well with a spicy makhani pipette on the zaffrani paneer.

I found the paneer to be a little on the harder side, especially the Malai paneer. The best of all the three was the Pudina Paneer - it was softer of all the paneer and was delicious enough. I so wanted to try Veranda because of their LEGENDARY BUTTER PANEER - This dish a complete dish meaning it comes along with the bread. Here it comes with Kulcha and raita. I can't explain how soft and scrumptious the Paneer was. I closed my eyes at the first bite.

I highly recommend this. You get two Medium-sized Kulcha and raita in sufficient quantity but I am sure you'll want more Kulchas to finish the entire Butter Paneer. Bear in the mind the fact that this is a sweet main course but worth it. It was served in a large white plate and gives a very nice feel. Now let's hop to my favourite part of a restaurant visit. Yeah, you guessed it right.

Desserts

Surprisingly they have a lot of novelty in desserts. Some are really beyond imagination like MASALA CUTTING KULFI - These were heart-shaped kulfi pieces served in a cutting chai glass. They kulfis were of masala chai flavour. The base of the glasses is covered with chocolate ice-cream, over which you have the Kulfis topped with Mango pulp and around the glasses, you have small rock shaped chikkis.

This dessert was delicious. Try the combination of chikki and chocolate ice-cream which I loved. The masala kulfi does taste like masala chai. This can also support your Instagram page :p Next up was an Italian dessert fusion. It is called PANA-DISE - This is a lemon Panacotta with earl grey sauce.

Here the Panacotta was wrapped in the earl grey sauce, topped with lime pieces and almond flakes to decorate. This is a fruity dessert and someone who doesn't like very sweet desserts can try this one. There were some other desserts like Gulkand Chocobar and Aam Panna gel with ice-cream.

Other items ordered were Mixed berry lemonade, Tandoori raves tastic & Grilled oriental chicken breast. The veranda is also known for Cocktails, Mocktails, Wine & Salad. A few other aspects to consider here is the Elegant Decor, regular events and their Brunch menu and offers. One of their offers says "Enjoy a 3-course menu for 2 and a bottle of wine with your table decorated with flowers and candles for INR3500 for that special date!". Excited? checkout their Zomato and Instagram for more. They are also featured in Sunday Brunches, Romantic, Best of Mumbai, Gigs and Events collection.
