We’ve been hearing about Tawwakal Sweets at Bhendi Bazaar since time immemorial, so this Ramzan, we thought we should definitely try their specialties!
Founded in 1955, Tawwakal was originally a small shop that sold delicious, traditional recipes that were handed down through generations. Today, decades years later, Tawwakal is one of the most loved sweet shops in Mumbai and no visit to Muhammad Ali road is complete without a firni or some malpua from this shop.
Trying to keep things a little less indulgent? Go for their date and anjeer-based sweets. They're sugar-free!
Presently, the shop is fantastically balancing old and new customs and offers a variety of options for all sweet lovers. Go here for their delicious firni– mango (it’s outstanding), kesar and regular. Also, don’t miss out on the chocolate honey roll, aflatoons, iconic sutarfeni, mawa jalebi, the freshly made, hot malpua and the malai puff. We’re also big-time fans of their barfi, especially the blackcurrant one (it’s not like anything you’ve had before).
