Organic Kitchen Gardening & Home Composting Workshop

What's Happening

Get your hands dirt(y) this weekend as you learn practical tips and tricks on how to start and maintain your very own kitchen garden. This workshop held at Green Soul's organic garden at St. Jude and you'll have a chance to really dive in and try your hand at gardening in the outdoors for yourself. 

If you have a balcony, terrace, grill, window or a backyard, and want to know how you can begin growing your very own organic herbs, veggies, and fruits, this workshop is for you. 

What will you learn? You'll learn the ABC of soil ecology, how to make your very own living soil pot, transplanting plants, sowing seeds, making your own plant containers from water, bottle planters, pest remedies, creating your own sowing calender, how to maintain and care for your plants, and more!

They'll also teach you how to make your own kitchen compost from waste you have in your own home, and how to use it to grow plants. 


How's The Venue

 at St. Jude is a social space that contributes all its produce to children at St. Jude who are battling Cancer. The proceeds from the workshop will go towards garden maintenance. 

Pro-Tip

Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that cover the legs, avoid sports shoes shoes and carry sun protection as the workshop is in the outdoors. You can also carry a set of gardening gloves if you have them.
