Instagram really does toss out some gems. And this time while on the hunt for a new bodycare brand to cover, I stumbled across Chennai Soap Company. Founded by Sharmeen, Chennai Soap Company runs out of a workshop in - you guessed it - Chennai. A homemaker-turned-entrepreneur, Sharmeen's turned her passion for soap-making into a brand that's all about caring for your skin, naturally. With sensitive skin herself, the hunt was to find soaps that cared and cleansed the skin gently.
The soaps here are made the cold-pressed method with pure South Indian organic coconut oil, Mediterranean organic olive oil, and natural butters. Their soaps are free from harsh chemicals, artificial ingredients or fragrances and are infused with natural botanicals and scented with pure essential oils. Each soap is handmade and handcut in small batches.
We asked Sharmeen to share her favourites from the collection with us and here's what she picked: Multani Mitti Soap (INR 350), Calendula And Oats Soap (INR 525) and Olive Castile Soap (INR 350). Each of the soaps is nourishing for the skin and suitable for different skin types. Personally, I'd love to try out their Rose Absolute Soap (INR 525) as a huge fan of natural rose and the Kashmir Lavender Ecstacy Soap (INR 525).
