Raw Mango, the eclectic ethnic brand by Sanjay Garg is tucked away in the artsy lanes of Colaba, a coveted spot opposite the Taj Mahal Hotel. It’s ethereal, raw and brings in a bit of its Delhi’s farm vibes.
Taking the place of its previous tenants, Bombay Electric, the store houses a fantastic view of the grand Taj Mahal Hotel and sea breeze that whiffs from one side as it’s housed inside a century-old building. Though the ground floor store is a shopper’s haven and enough to browse about the collection, they also have a tiny space upstairs hoarding up on the bridal and more formal couture. The wedding outfits look like they belong on the runway (as they do) with their intrinsic work on them. The pale silks are to die for.
The store in all its glory captures the essence of the brand with sarees and blouses neatly stacked in well-furnished white cabinets. Walk around the airy store with ample light, and discover the gorgeous sarees with somewhat a hefty price. However, the collection is absolutely dreamy. Curated by karigars from different states (Rajasthan, MP, Varanasi, West Bengal) they have sarees of all types - silks, Chanderis, Banarsi styles in all colours of pastels and mustard yellow.
