Let's face it - wearing a saree definitely calls for a good occasion, but hey, there are so many of us who love wearing it for no apparent reason. And for this, one needs to know how to drape it really well. We're talking about #sarininja level of crazy here, where you pat yourself on the back for managing to drape it under two minutes. Think that's hard? Well, not really, if you attend this cool saree draping workshop!
Sujata and Tanya, owners of our favourite brand - Suta, are here to dispel the notion that wearing/tying a saree is rocket science. At this session, you'll be taught how to drape a saree in different ways for different occasions, how to drape different types of sarees, and a look at what the modern saree can look like when accessorised well. They'll be teaching you how to drape a saree in a minute, learn painless and pinless draping techniques, and more. Sounds like a dream? We certainly think so!
You'll get to practice your saree draping skills at the Suta store in Kalina itself (it's a chic boutique sprawling over 1,800 sq. ft.). Also, once you're done being the expert draper, you can check out their collection. Expect soothing pastels and muted colours, subtle prints, ruffles and frills, and bold patterns. And, the options are plenty. Choose from their vast array, from ruffle saris (our personal favourite) to handlooms, silk, Jamdani, Mul Khesh and a lot more. If you're confused, opt for their ruffle sari, it totally stands out. It strikes the perfect balance between funkiness and elegance. The average start range of their saris is INR 2,000 and upwards.
