What Is It?

Walked into the recently restored Royal Opera House yet? The beautiful structure, made and brought back to action just last year by the royal family of Gondal has since, hosted several live gigs, plays and even full-fledged operas such as The Secret Marriage.

The popular Mumbai writer and blogger, Bombaywalla, is organising a heritage walk through The Opera House as part of Bombaywalla Walks. The walks will be held on November 11, 19 and 25.

Who Is It For?

Cultural enthusiasts would enjoy this. If you’ve grown up in Mumbai, but not paid all that much attention to the small area of Grant Road that is teeming with culture and history, this is a wonderful way to get started.

Why Should I Go?

The walk will not just explore the Royal Opera House, but also surrounding areas, starting from the old Alfred Talkies and even Laxmi Baug.

This is particularly relevant now, as Royal Opera House just got awarded the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation, according to an article by Hindustan Times.
