What Makes It Awesome

We found a brand that's celebrating the rich and diverse heritage of handloom saree weaving in India and we could not be more stoked. What are we talking about, well, it's a brand called Loomfolks and they are all about encouraging our artisans to become more independent and benefit from a sustainable means of income that's more socially equal through practising their craft.

Loomfolks works with weavers from across the country and aims to help them develop more original and unique designs and thinking in rural spaces. It's also about connecting them with a global audience and helping us get access to handmade products from these artisans. I fell in love with several of their saree designs and found a wide selection to choose from from cotton jamdani sarees to tissue linen sarees. There were those with embroidery in rich colours that would work for an occasion as well as wearable work sarees, too. From bright oranges and yellows to more muted linens and summery cottons, there really was something here for a variety of occasions. We hear their Golden Tissue Embroidery Saree, and Brick Red Linen Check Saree are bestsellers.

And what really struck me is how relatively affordable their range is. Expect to shell out between INR 1200 to INR 5,000 up for their range. I didn't spot anything above the INR 8,000 mark.

What Could Be Better
