What Is It?
Who Is It For?
For the longest time, we haven’t had access to proper opera in India, let alone Mumbai. This is a great opportunity for all those who have never experienced it before, and would love to.
Why Should I Go?
First things first, it’s taking place at the beautiful Royal Opera House which was renovated and redone last October {for inspiration, take a look at pictures here}.
The opera itself is a comedy, Il Matrimonio Segreto {translates to The Secret Marriage from Italian}, and is an opera in two acts. The opera will be led by Patricia Rozario, directed by Rehaan Engineer and conducted by Maria Badstue. The cast will be an entirely Indian one with singers such as Shreya Nayak, Anoushka Pokhare, Rahul Bharadwaj and more. Plus, players from the Symphony Orchestra of India.
