My first introduction to Korean food was through K-Dramas. And if you are a fan, you know exactly what I am talking about. How many times have we watched our favourite heroes and heroines (Chef from Oh My Ghost will always have my heart) dig into the most insanely delicious food in full slo-mo glory? Too many to count right? And how hard is it to find the same food easily accessible in Mumbai, well, pretty damn tough.
So you can imagine my excitement when I found Seoul Mate, a delivery kitchen that specialises in Korean cuisine. One look at their menu, and I knew I had potentially found the perfect accompaniment to my weekend binge sessions. Now onto what's on offer. Brainchild of Chef Kaviraj Thadani, Seoul Mate is all about making contemporary Korean food accessible to us - they even worked with a Korean consultant to make sure everything is authentic but also good for our veggie friends with plenty of veg and even vegan options. How many times did we watch our favourite Reply 1988 gang dig into fried chicken? Now you can order some for yourself and dig in with them. Or watch our fave leads make gimbap for their love interest - they have that too. Then there's the usual comfort fare in bibimbap and my personal favourite Samgyubsal or a delish spicy pork belly. They also have added options like Kimchi Fried Rice, Japchae (another favourite usually cooked up with love by on-screen Korean mums) and more.
We hear their specialties are the Bibimbap, Korean Fried Chicken and the Korean BBQ Sets (yum!). I'm bookmarking this one as a weekend treat. Are you?
