Sequel Bistro & Juice Bar, founded by Vanika Choudhary back in 2016, was one of the first bars that came up with a gluten-free concept in Mumbai (thanks to her organic and healthy way of life). With two outlets in the city (Kala Ghoda & Bandra), this bar is everyone's favourite for its healthy but delicious spread.
The Kala Ghoda branch is spacious and airy with high-rising ceilings that are dotted with their special air-purifying plants. The space can easily seat up to 42 people. The bistro also has a quick ‘Grab & Go’ Fridge for folks who're in a hurry as well. Vanika tells us that the philosophy behind Sequel is to keep up with seasonal crops and veggies, so the menu by default keeps changing. Most of their produce and vegetables are sourced locally from a farm in Pune, and keeps up the authenticity of their menu.
The menu here is rich with its breakfast and lunch section that includes a few standalone dishes such as our favourite avocado punch (INR 360), power bowl (Peruvian raw cacao, carob powder, Iranian dates, with house-made coconut milk), and the sequel tartine. For desserts, you've got to try their raw avo mousse (that is, Hass avocado topped with cacao nibs and raspberries), and the ever so splendid nice cream (with raw cacao, almond butter, raspberry and cashew butter). The drinks include their fresh all-natural smoothies- Peruvian cacao smoothie, avolicious, and our favourite Kashmiri saffron-infused almond milk.
With its organic, and 100 per cent gluten-free philosophy, Sequel offers its patrons a unique option of healthy eating. We’re making our way there to get our hands on their perfectly poached eggs, how about you?
