There are nooks and crannies in the city that always seem to amaze us, and one such little store in a street, hidden from view is where we stopped at. Shah Book Stall, in the heart of Fort, stocks books from fantasy to fiction and non-fiction to all types of greeting cards that you can think of.

What Makes It Awesome
Just outside the tiny store, you’ll see two wooden stands that have displayed books and have signboards that read ‘Birthday’ and ‘Get Well Soon’. Thoroughly charmed, we had a chat with the manager, who told us that they stock all sorts of books – from fiction to non-fiction, best sellers and even some fantasy, for all kinds of readers. While they still sell at MRP, we picked up a fair share to keep us occupied.
What made us blink twice was that there was a narrow staircase leading up with greetings written on each step, and once we reach the top, we see rows and rows of boxes, neatly lined, with greeting cards for every occasion you can think of.
Birthdays and farewells, get well cards to even new home, boss and bon voyage – you’ve got a plethora of options to pick from. The prices range from INR 50 to anywhere around INR 350for the big cards.
Pro-Tip
If you’re into magazines, they also have a small collection to pique your interest. All in all, it makes for a great visit and you’re sure to end up buying something for someone for some special occasion.
