What Makes It Awesome

One of the oldest Durga Pujas in the city, the Shivaji Park Bengal Club puja also happens to be one of the biggest. The idols here are made using eco-friendly materials such as mud and special water-soluble, chemical-free paints.

The pandal is spread over 2.5 acres, and every year has varieties of stalls catering to fashion, culture and food lovers. Additional provisions towards fire safety and protection against rains are ensured during this time. Go here to attend the aartis and watch specially choreographed folk dance and music performances organised by the members of the club.

The celebrations will go on until Dussehra, October 8. If you want to get a glimpse of authentic Bengali culture and celebrations, do not miss out on this (or any other) pujo.

#LBBTip: Don't miss out on the traditional bhog, or pujo food that's served at auspicious times during the day after the daily puja ritual. We suggest you be prepared to eat the traditional way, with your hands!
