The Indian subcontinent is no stranger to the magic of traditional art forms - and every now and then, we believe we all need a reminder of just how stunning local crafts can be. We think taking a deep dive into the world of heritage textiles is a beautiful experience, since there is much to learn about artisans' design philosophies and their own inspiration. India's got a rich, ancient heritage when it comes to fine heritage textiles, we think it could be beautiful to experience them all at a space like Parvati Villa in Colaba. A heritage property located in the heart of the city, they're hosting 10 artisans and weavers on the 25th and 26th to show us all their craft.
The Heritage Spring Edit at Parvati Villa includes fabrics such as Ikat, Patola, Bhagalpuri, Ajrak and Lehriya, and also Ahinsa Silk, which isn't made by the non-crueltry-free traditional method. It's going to feature brands like Asal, Bun.Kar Bihar, Village Art and Anka, and also national award-winning artisans like Tayeb Khan and Kadar Khatri.
Make your way to Parvati Villa this weekend, between 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM at Cusrow Baug. Be prepared to shop. A lot.
