Out of a zillion things trending on social media in 2020, one of them has been #ShopLocal. This one has helped tremendously, by putting the spotlight on amazing local brands and talented artisans across the country. And, since we're a platform that supports local brands, we couldn't be happier.
One such brand we've discovered is Uru. A fantastic home decor brand, this online space connects the handicrafts and art of local artisans to a larger user base. One glance at their collection and you'll know that they are testement to India's rich culture and heritage. Expects lots of bright colours, patterns and traditional knick-knacks. From home decor to eco-friendly Ganesha idols, and from garden accessories to trunks - it was refreshing to see the pop of colours and vibrancy.
I particularly loved their coloured glass lanterns, handcrafted wooden dolls and a colourful handpainted trunk. Reminding us of the good old days, you'll also find cute knick-knacks for rickshaws. So adorable! They've also got a huge collection for brass home decor and kitchen essentials. Think trays, bowls and showpieces. Oh, and if you're into gardening, they've cute hand-painted clay pots.
