What Is It?

In Sindhi, ‘Juss’ depicts the touch of magic and love in the hands of the person cooking the meal.

Juss is the brainchild of mother-son duo, Chef Kanchan Ahuja and Sannat Ahuja, who launched Sindhful, Mumbai’s first Sindhi food delivery kitchen at Khar and Andheri West. With Juss, they plan to take Sindhi cuisine to next level in the city.

The cosy 24-seater vegetarian restaurant, tucked away in the by-lanes of Khar, has a warm vibe to it, with contemporary decor elements.

Chow Down

The menu at this Khar eatery {authentic Sindhi recipes that have been a family heirloom} aims to ‘juss you over’, spoiling you with a choice of vegetarian-only unlimited Sindhi Thali along with Naasto {Sindhi fusion small plates}, Namkeen {papad and more}, Khado {mains}, Meetho {dessert}, and Pe Pe Pe {beverages}.

The thali spread includes sanna pakoda, aloo took, sindhi kadhi, sai bhaji, raswalle aloo, bhindi basar, steamed rice,  bhuga chaval, phulkas, rose sharbat and much more.

Besides its signature Sindhi Thali, Juss has also introduced some unique ‘Sindhi nasto and namkeen’ with dishes such as pakwaan chaat, tuk tuk, crispy seyal, khicha, tikra to keep you full.

If you’re the type who just doesn’t want to end the meal without something sweet, you can try something ‘meetho’ in the form of singhar ji mithai {also known as sev barfi}, malai cake, sevai kheerni, kulfi falooda, and dyammu {also known as gulab jamun}.

So, We’re Saying…

Sindhi food is hard to come by in the city, despite the community having such a large presence. If you’ve tried this cuisine and are already a fan of it, make sure to head straight here for some delish thalis that are sure to satisfy your soul. Check them out on Facebook.
