In celebration of Independence Day, LBB is partnering up with No Footprints, a company that curates local travel experiences that offer up a glimpse of a different side to the city of Mumbai. This 2-hour pre-Independence heritage walk will take all you culture enthusiasts and history buffs around some of SoBo's most interesting historic destinations.
You'll start your walk at the iconic Gateway of India. Along your journey with No Footprints, you'll learn about how the Somerset Light Infantry was the last British troop to leave the country. They were bestowed with a guard of honor at the Gateway, and the moment of departure was a landmark moment for India's independence and marked the start of a new era. Your walk will then take you to the Silk Route restaurant (popular as the Wayside Inn) where Dr. Ambedkar is said to have penned the constitution of independent India. Other landmarks you'll explore along the walk include the Yacht Club, Dhanraj Mahal, Wellington Circle, the Kala Ghoda Precinct, Mumbai University, and the High Court. Each place is loaded with its own fascinating history from pre-Independence times that you'll get to learn about firsthand!
Let's make it even better - after a fun, healthy walk across the old part of town, you'll also get healthy goodies from Rostaa to take home with you! Sunday's gearing up to be a fun morning, isn't it?
Hold up! There's more. No Footprints is also having a Guide Acquisition Drive, where all you outgoing culture enthusiasts can join their team on a part-time basis and lead your own walks and get paid for it too! You can reach out at careers@nfpexplore.com!
