You’re probably wondering if we’re playing around with you, but seriously, JB’s Relish-ious, a new venture in the city, makes delicious vegetarian and Jain sushi cakes that not only taste great but look gobsmackingly tasty.
Jayshree Biyani, the brains behind the venture, told us how she credits her love for all things Japanese, especially Sushi, to her father-in-law, who encouraged her to start something new, which then led to her learn how to make sushi via YouTube videos, and the rest, they say, is history.
So, let’s get into the details now. There are around 10-12 variants in her vegetarian sushi cakes and around 6 variants in her Jain sushi cakes. We tried her avocado, asparagus, edamame seeds with cream cheese sushi cake which was decorated beautifully and came with a side of wasabi for that extra kick and some soy sauce. Each layer stands out, with different flavours popping in the mouth and making for a mouth-watering end result.
The best bit? It’s a meal in itself, so if you’re calling one to work or at home, you can be assured that it’ll fill you up.
Apart from sushi cakes, they also have dips, quesadilla, enchiladas, pesto baskets, vegetarian sushi in a box, and even desserts like mango quinoa firni, seasonal fruit cakes, chocolate cake and ganache.
The prices vary as per the dish you want but can start at INR 95 for a dip to INR 1,400 onwards for sushi cake. They have ensured that they use the choicest of ingredients and will also give you instructions on why you shouldn’t be storing their food because it’s so fresh, you have to eat it all the same day.
Seriously though, if this is going to be the latest culinary fad, we’re all for it!
