Ganpati Gadad! Gadad means caves. Yeah, you heard right, Caves. This place is very amazing and has breathtaking scenic views. It's 3 hours away from Mumbai and 2 hours from Kalyan. It is a bunch of caves with a Waterfall in front. I went there last weekend, on Sunday morning which was rainy. We were a group of 5 friends and started the journey from Kalyan bus depot. We took a bus for Tokawade and got down at a junction of Kasgaon. From there we got a taxi for Dhasai and from Dhasai we headed towards base village named Sonawale in a Tumtum {rickshaw}.
The trek started from Sonawale village taking the route according to Google Maps. It was about 2 and a half hour trek till the caves. We even got lost in between and took help of a local. The whole route had amazing natural beautiful scenarios. And after reaching caves, it was like heaven there. There's a Ganpati Temple in the biggest cave. All the caves are nice to spend a night. The local guy told us that this caves were made by the Pandavas in the time of their Vanvaas. Do visit there once.
