What Makes It Awesome

Ever since The Bombay Canteen opened, all my trips to Mumbai are incomplete without their Pulled Pork Tacos. Much to the dismay of Gujju aunties everywhere, pulled pork is served on methi theplas here. They serve three tacos per plate - so order accordingly. I also LOVE their Ghee Roast Chicken On Toast and everything else about The Bombay Canteen!

The vibe is like Byculla-meets-Brooklyn. While the bartenders show off their skills behind a seriously stretched bar, Chef Thomas Zacharias spruces up downright desi dishes with a subtle firangi twist.

The Bombay Canteen celebrates great food using local Indian ingredients and transforming them into world-class dishes. It’s that, and perhaps the warm friendly staff {and their cocktails} that keeps me going back for more.

They recently opened O Pedro, a Goan restaurant in BKC, and I can’t wait to try it!
