I was craving for some south Indian food last Friday and Google directed me to this nearby restaurant. I can literally go anywhere to feed my cravings and got two colleagues to come along on this 'Mallu-food' expedition of mine
You won't believe what was in store - a mini Kerala!
Amit Srivastava, the enthu-cutlet (and a great salesman) of the restaurant left no stone unturned to make this a special meal for us. Starting from the water (warm, red, tasteless and Ayurvedic) infused with herbs called Pathimugam to the authentic unlimited banana-leaf thali (rice, Sambhar, 3 types of veggies, 1 tangy but flavoursome Fish curry, Papad & Payasam for just ₹70 bucks!); from the Chicken Kurma (served with Appam) to the shallow-fried Prawns - each cooked in the typical Kerala style were completely delectable. We ended the meal with the refreshing tender coconut juice made with coconut water, malai, sugar and a dash of lime.
The restaurant may be small but their hearts were full of hospitality. As for the food, probably the fish could've been better but we devoured everything else, happily.
Oh, and we had to shell out only INR 1300 bucks for this whole meal. It was worth every penny and I'm definitely coming back for more.
