The bio-diversity park has been built by the Thane Municipal Corporation, within the premises of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park that spreads across Borivali and ends near Yeoor Hills in Thane. So in other words, it’s a park within a park that houses several species of plants and will ensure that wastewater is recycled properly.
Meditate Or Go Butterfly Spotting: Take A Day Trip To This Beautiful Biodiversity Park
What Is It?
Tell Me More
The project contains five gardens within one huge garden. All five of them have unique plant species, with the fifth also doubling up as a butterfly garden. The plants are based on the five elements – the first is a nursery, the second and third are bamboo gardens, the fourth is a oneness garden {for meditation}, and the fifth a butterfly garden.
From Garbage To Awesome
Funnily though, although set up and inaugurated, residents claim that they aren’t aware of the existence of the biodiversity park. But it’s a welcome change for them, as the area originally was a garbage dump that has now been converted, much like Mahim Nature Park in Mumbai.
So, We're Saying...
If you’re a nature lover and frequent Sanjay Gandhi National Park, try and take some time out to check this park out.
