Heng Bok is one of the very few authentic Korean restaurant’s we have in Mumbai and it surely is a blessing. Starting from the ambience, as soon as you enter, you feel connected to the Korean culture because they greet you in the Korean language and it’s a form of welcoming their guests. The ambience gives you a feel of Korean culture with its chairs and tables.
Coming to the food, Korean people always serve you some Kimchi which is complimentary, till your food comes, it is basically cabbage which is mixed with some chilli sauce and some beansprout with olive oil, that also tasted really good. Moving on to the starters, we ordered the Kimbab which is the Korean Sushi, we ordered the Tempura Kimbab which was good, and you could add some sauce to make it even better. Secondly, we ordered the Prawn Tempura which was crunchy and we paired it with the spicy cheese mayo sauce that went perfectly well with it. We then ordered the Kimchi Rice and to go with it, we called for the Squid and Pork Dish which was tossed with some amazing sauce.
Overall we enjoyed all the dishes and you could tell that it had a strong Korean element to it which is rare to find in Mumbai. The only pitfall was that we did not enjoy the Octopus Barbeque that much since it was too difficult to chew and swallow, nevertheless, overall the food was very delicious especially for a newcomer like me, who has never tried Korean food. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, the food and ambience and would definitely give it a thumbs up and a must try. Also would like to thank the server Dipak who was extremely helpful and hospitable and made our experience wonderful.
Food – 4/5

I would strongly recommend this place to all the sushi lovers out here. Cheers!
