While 2020 was a tough and challenging year, there's no doubt some managed to find their rainbow in the storm. And one such person was Manan, a 19-year old self-taught home baker. Sugar Den, another lockdown baby, is a home-baking venture based out of Kandivali.
Manan tells us that he was always fascinated and passionate about baking and picked up the knowledge and skills through self-learning and observing other passionate bakers who he learned from. However, it wasn't until the lockdown that he decided to put his skills to the test and launch his own business.
Running on IG and Whatsapp, Manan not only has a regular menu of items that he bakes, but also takes orders for customised cakes and themed desserts. There's sumptuous jar cakes to dig into like Chocolate Truffle & Kitkat, cupcakes to take a bite of like Nutella and Red Velvet, of course, there is Banana Bread (would not expect anything less from a 2020-launched baking business) and even cookies like Coconut Cookie and Double Chocolate Chip. They also do full-size cakes like a decadent Chocolate Truffle and a fusion Rasmalai.
As everything is baked to order, you'll need to drop Manan a line or call up 24 to 48 hours prior. 1/2 Kg is their smallest cake size and starts at INR 384 for the Black Forest. Delivery in Kandivali is free, rest of Mumbai, courier charges apply.
