For the uninitiated, Ghatkopar is peak Gujjuland, innit? Don’t ever say that to someone who lives there, though. Or they’ll never take you to the Khau Galli.
Ghatkopar has been as popular as ever since the 1800s. Do you know that very first railway line that ran from Thane to Bori Bandar? Well, Ghatkopar was a stop on that one! We found out that the station has existed since 1877. Albeit with a few updates to get with the times.
Ghatkopar has always been known for its many malls, spacious homes, and is also home to one of the most awe-inducing Khau Gallis in the city. But that’s not it, and here’s a #HoodGuide to prove it.
How To Reach: Ghatkopar is on the Central Railway line, so if you’re coming from the Western or Harbour Line areas, you can switch trains at Dadar or Kurla, respectively. Alternatively, you could also opt to take the Versova-Ghatkopar metro, and reach Ghatkopar in a jiffy.
