We like to think of Versova as Mumbai’s creative epicentre. Every square foot of this once quaint and quiet suburban spot is now inhabited by schools of various disciplines - acting, music, martial arts, painting and the like. We’re all quite familiar with the fact that a ton of Bollywood’s creme de la creme call this part of town home… And we’re not surprised.
Really, who can resist greenery, accessibility and those lovely sea-view homes?
Fun Fact: It’s quite surprising when you find out that the region, once called Vesave, was a little fishing village - the remnants of which are still around, today.
Versova, today, has metamorphosed into a locality that appeals to anyone with a creative bent, or a love for the arts. After all, it’s dotted with iconic cafes, art supply stores and parks that are worth writing Haikus for.
How To Reach: The best way to reach Versova via Ghatkopar-Versova Mumbai metro. If you get in at Ghatkopar, the fare is INR 40 and from Andheri station, it is INR 20. Just get down at the last stop and you are in the hood!
