What Makes It Awesome

On my recent visit to Mumbai, I checked out Jia {from the house of Royal China) and was pleasantly surprised. This modern Oriental Kitchen opened in place of Le Pain Quotidien in Colaba, and has ridiculously great service. Their food and bar menu both are expansive, and they even have a separate vegetarian menu with a dizzying array of options! {Vegetarians 1: Non Vegetarians 0}

I highly recommend the Dragon Roll and Spider Roll spruced up with sriracha mayo, Char Siu Pork Baos, Truffle Edamame Dumplings, Duck Rolls, Pork Cheung Fun and Chilli Tenderloin.

The highlight of my meal was the Soft-Shelled Crab Tempura, hands down. It came tossed with curry leaves and almond flakes - SO good! I also loved the Crispy Pork Belly, glazed with truffle and served with freshly baked mantou buns.

What's My Pro Tip?

Indigo Deli is walking distance from Jia - so you can head there for some homemade ice cream. Their caramel flavour {Dulce de leche} is the perfect end to any meal.
