Diwali is almost upon us and while our excitement is palpable, have you thought of celebrating the festival differently? The festive season is probably the one time when you’re allowed to cheat on your diet and gorge on sweets, but what if we tell you that you can actually have your cake and eat it too!?
Figaro Olive Oil & LBB Mumbai decided to do something different, on the eve of this auspicious festival.
Now, all of us believe that the best kind of blessings are the ones that you receive from the heart. And the truest form is always with our grandparents (we aren’t kidding, they always make us smile!) As an initiative by Figaro Olive Oil, we paid a visit to the Special Care Unit, an old age home in the city, to bring smiles on all these amazing seniors’ faces. To sweeten this initiative, we had Chef Chinu & Krystle D Souza on board, who not only spent time with these lovely individuals but also had a gala time themselves!
Chef Chinu whipped up an Indian x Mexican savory dish followed by delicious tea cakes for the entire group and they had the loveliest time eating them! We loved how they had such a fun time chatting with the group and mingling like they’d known each other for decades. Honestly, these are the things that always leave a lasting impression, don’t they? If you want to know what got their taste buds in motion, it’s the fact that all of these delicacies were prepped using Figaro Olive Oil, and they mentioned how they actually got the best of both worlds - taste, and health in every bite!
The best part about this was that since this is the festival of giving, we were happy to do our little bit to show them how much we care and it was an added bonus to get them to laugh! We’re glad we could make a small difference this Diwali, we suggest you give it a shot too!
