Anniyam means 'unique' as in the concept of South Indian food in Mumbai. The focus here is to represent the coastal flavours merging with the basics of South Indian popular items.
Here's a list of unique items I tried there (and you must too!)
1)Podi Idli- Podi (Gunpowder) masala made of Flax seeds and ghee topped on tiny little idlis.
2)Srilankan vegan Lavariya- rice string hoppers wrapped with a mixture of lentil, fresh coconut, jaggery and honey.
3) Ghee roasted Idli- Honestly, my favourite amongst all. The chutneys served with this were amazing on another level.
4)Paneer vegetable with Malabari and normal paratha: Paneer tikka cooked in a south Indian style, truly unique. Parathas were awesome as well.
5) Jigar Thanda: This was a beverage with thick kheer like consistency, nevertheless tasted great. It's Madurai's speciality and is served with almond paste and khoya mixture. (5/5)
