What Makes It Awesome

Sakti Dining at Fivelements Retreat Bali - Connect back with Nature

Sakti Dining Restaurant at Fivelements Retreat in Bali is an eco-luxurious setting flanked between the Ayung River, tropical ponds and gardens. Fivelements Retreat Bali is built around the theme of connecting you back with nature and Sakti carries the theme further. The restaurant is surrounded by lot of luxurious greenery and streams of flowing water.

As I entered the restaurant, I loved the very open and welcoming feel about it. The height is amazing and part of the restaurant has upper seating as well. The connection with nature is further enhanced as there is no cement used in the interiors. Bamboo pillars support the structure and even the path to the upper seating has been made using bamboo. I was attracted to the fish pond which is located right in the centre of the restaurant. Feeding the fishes had a calming effect on me. The furniture is made using woven rattan, giving it a rustic feel. Aesthetically designed Balinese sculptures are strategically placed at different points of the restaurant.

From the range of fresh juices which were on the menu, we took Watermelon, which quenched our thirst, satisfied our taste buds and helped us to keep our cool. As an accompaniment, we chose Seasonal Tropical Fruit Salad, which is a cold refreshing salad with a bounty of fresh produce including seasonal fruits such as strawberry, banana and pineapple with fresh mint and coconut yoghurt. The dish was filled with flavor and texture and was a light satisfying start to our meal.

For starters, we had Curried Kale Chips. The chips were light and crispy, but we were surprised by the absolutely massive size of the chips. Each chip was the size of a hand, and the dish was a generous portion for two people to share.

Then we chose Chickpea and Cassava Flatbread. We loved the components in this dish which is an assortment of raw carrot hummus, sautéed mushroom, pickled carrots, and herbs served on flatbread.

From the side dishes, we had sweet potato chips, which was the best accompaniment to the vegan dishes served in the restaurant.

Rice finds a place of prominence in Indonesian cuisine. Organic red rice with seasonal vegetables made up our next dish, Vegetable NasiGoreng. The dish looked surprisingly simple but was extremely satisfying.

We were delighted to see a familiar name on the menu which was South Indian Dhal. It came served with sesame rice cracker. We found the dish to be incredibly amazing.

For desserts, we had Coconut Lime Cheese cake and found it to be a perfect balance of flavor and texture, with ginger torch sorbet and dragon fruit. We were tempted to try one more dish and went in for Chocolate Symphony which was a delicious blend of mousse layer cake, white chocolate ice cream, truffle and cacao syrup.

The restaurant celebrates ‘plant-based cuisine’ and serves delicious vegan food. It is very popular among the travelers and is fairly occupied. The staff are cheerful and extremely caring and go the extra mile to help you in the selection of dishes. The items on offer are signature dishes prepared by talented chefs from the resort.

I fell in love with Sakti Dining at Fivelements, a restaurant that isn’t short on inspiration or flavor. It should be on the must visit list of every traveler.
