The city of dreams – Mumbai is full of surprises and with the growing number of people grows equal taste buds. While many restaurants came and retired, there were few who left a mark with good food that diners still ask for. One such place that transformed from a delivery kitchen to a dine-in place purely on public demand is The Kebab Guy Petite.
After the success of The Kebab Guy {delivery outlet} and with the overflowing request for dine-in, Mr resMir Aga Syed – a young restaurateur created a niche with The Kebab Guy Petite serving delectable food with a Mediterranean touch. If you think all kebabs are made in skewer – wait until you meet him.
The Kebab Guy Petite is a quaint place huddled near Linking Road {Bandra}, some say Khar, it can serve 8 to 10 diners at a time. With an open kitchen format, this eatery has embraced culinary skills like no one. You can expect positive vibes from the interiors with dim lightings and a folk art painting.
Our host, the owner, was so hospitable that he added another star to our experience with talks on his food journey. He had a very genuine and humble personality.
When you skim through the menu, you’ll find biryani and curries, doners, burgers, charcoal grilled kebabs, shawarmas, and desserts.
We tried the following dishes:
Sriracha Chicken Wings – chicken wings seasoned with salt, black pepper, vegetable oil, and sriracha sauce. The chicken wings had the right quotient of spice and tasted hot.
Harissa Cheese and Mushroom Doners – baked mushroom stuffed with cheese mixed in harissa sauce prepared on a vertical rotisserie. A piece of happiness for any vegetarian.
Wicked Lamb Kebab Doners – grilled ground lamb marinated in Arabian sauce tossed in special spicy wicked sauce.
Iranian Chicken Kebab – marinated chicken cubes prepared with ingredients like saffron, lime juice, onion, olive oil, and hung yoghurt to give a pleasant taste to it. The spice matrix can be customised as per your capacity.
Harissa Prawns – seafood marinated in spicy harissa paste tasted yummy.
Their Blueberry Cheese Cake and Chocolate Mousse are the appropriate desserts to end your meal like a king.
The Kebab Guy Petite opened less than a week ago, but it's definitely better than The Kebab Guy when it comes to food and hospitality.
