This is a newly opened eatery in the bylanes of Bandra. We happened to notice it a couple of times and always wondered what this place is about. The name 'Hoppumm' sounds interesting, and it instantly makes you curious! So finally we decided to drop by and taste the food here.
To our surprise, this place serves authentic Sri Lankan food. They have a couple of curries that you can pair with your choice of the staple. You can choose from a variety of options like a hopper, string hopper, neer dosa, paratha, and Kotti roti. We ordered Ceylon roasted chicken with neer dosa, and we were blown away by the exotic flavour.
We also ordered the chicken pepper fry and Sri Lankan mutton roll (highly recommended).
To end our meal, we ordered Vathalappam, a Sri Lankan dessert which is somewhat like a pudding but with coconut milk. It tastes delicious.
Overall, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. I would love to visit this place again to try more dishes.
PS - It's closed on Mondays.
