Shortcut

Weekend getaways getting too monotonous? Switch the gear, and move out of Maharashtra to a beautiful, untouched beach called Tithal Beach. Just about 3-odd hours from Mumbai, this black sand beach is actually located in Gujarat, and is ideal for a quick plan out of the city.

How Do I Get There?

Going by road? Tithal is 200km from Mumbai, so on a regular day it will take you about 3.5 hours only to reach. The way out of Mumbai is via Thane, and then you keep driving on NH48 till you reach the Valsad district of Gujarat.

There are also trains and buses that ply on this route, so keep an eye out for them.

What's Awesome About It?

Tithal beach is so close to Mumbai, yet is unlike the beaches we find nearer to home {aka very clean and accessible}. Not very populated, Tithal beach is great for spending some quiet time. In the evenings, you can find vendors selling bhutta, coconut water and snacks. Got an adventurous bone? Tithal beach also has water sports that you can try out.

Anything Else?

I like sunsets and long walks on the beach #indianocean #tithalbeach #sunsets #indiansummer #randomhorse

As per this, the government is working on making Tithal beach a disabled-friendly beach with adapted walkways, ramps, railways and washrooms. We definitely think you should check out Tithal the next weekend you have free.
