With the winter season in full swing, there are a lot of places to explore around the city, and Harihar Fort is on the list!
Built on a triangular prism of rock, Harihar Fort has three faces and two edges that are absolutely vertical. A one-meter-wide staircase is carved out for ascending and descending the fort, with around 117 steps in all.
You'll find a small Hanuman and Shiva temple at the plateau and a pond in front of the temple. When you climb up the hill, the view from the top is out of this world, so don't forget to carry your cameras.
You assemble at Thane near the ticket counter of platform 10A on Saturday at 11 PM, travel by bus and reach the base village by 4 AM and start your trek.
You have breakfast on the way and explore the fort once you're at the top.
