Get Surrounded By 10 Million Fireflies At This Trek Less Than Two Hours From Mumbai

You better believe your eyes, if 10 million fireflies light up your world, as you fall asleep amidst the woods. Yes, you read that right. Wanderlust enthusiasts, Mumbai Rangers are organising treks to Prabalgad Fort near Matheran, where, at night, millions of fireflies gather to mate every year, just before the monsoon commences.

There are two to three trips to choose from, for someone who is interested in this experience. The trip encompasses two days, the first trip lasting from May 27-May 28, the second one planned over June 3-June 4 and the third one, June 10-June 11.

Every wildlife freak and adrenaline enthusiast out there! Even if you are not much of a wildlife person, we’re pretty sure you don’t want to say no to heart-to-heart conversations with the hills, with moving fairy lights around you.

However, it’s recommended that you have a medical check-up and due confirmation from your physician before the trek, ‘cuz you don’t want to worry about anything while enjoying nature at its finest, do you?

The base camp for the trekkers will be the Prabalmachi Village, the nearest station to which is Panvel. The trip begins from the meeting time of 9pm at Panvel Station on May 27, and lasts till around 10am on May 29.
