Mable Cafe and Bar is a quaint lounge in the peak area of Saki Naka. As you enter, you feel like you're in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of this busy city. It's a place which transports you far away from the city even while being right in the middle of the city.
Mable represents the Modern Indian Woman. It is the perfect place to relax, have a drink and have some good food after a long day at work or just to chill with friends.
The staff was very warm and attentive and could explain what was on the menu with ease. They knew what exactly the customer would like and would suggest the best dishes. Chef Stefan, the head chef, was very welcoming and explained us the concept behind the dishes we ordered. He has tried to inculcate his travel experiences from places like India, Canada and various European countries in the Menu. These flavours can be seen blooming and blossoming in the food served.
The most interesting this was their inhouse garden, which is right at their entrance, where they grow various herbs which are used in the dishes made. Talk about being sustainable!
We had:
Confit Chicken Poutine: 5/5
Lots of fries with perfectly shredded chicken and aged melted cheddar and some red wine. This combination works wonders. It had a tangy twist to it and the chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection.
Citrus Papaya Salad: 5/5
The chef recommended us this as it was light and citrusy and would make way for some more food after heavy chicken poutine. It was the perfect palate cleanser.
Root Vegetable Pie: 5/5
Tasty roots, Goat's Cheese, Carrot Chutney, Almonds served with a Puff Pastry. The pie was heavenly. It had a layer of mash potatoes in the bottom, topped with loads of root vegetables and goat cheese.
Drinks:
Lovers awakened: 5/5
Gin muddled with fresh rosemary, galangal rose to go me freshly squeezed cantaloupe melon juice topped with prosecco and ginger candy.
The green mile: 4.5/5
Vodka with kiwi puree basil gomme pink peppercorn celery and balanced lemon.
Mable is one of the few places which has fusion food which is a 5/5 in both presentation and taste. I would recommend this place for a good meal.
