Quirky Food & Board Games: This Cute SoBo Cafe Is Our Fave Hangout Spot

Fort001 is an all-vegetarian cafe in the art district of Kala Ghoda and it’s perfect for a quick Euro escape from your work woes.

Fort001 is a cute and a spacious cafe that’s opened up bang in the middle of Kala Ghoda, a few weeks back. Started off by husband-wife duo, Harsh and Vidhi Parekh, the cafe has a vegetarian menu with a major chunk being Jain dishes.

It has a lovely decor  – something that’s been inspired by the couple’s European holidays. It’s got plenty of natural light filtering in and is big enough to accommodate the suits from the Fort area. It’s already become a popular office break hangout and makes for a refreshing change.

The menu is diverse with quirky dishes like Usal Fondue and more, though the food is standard, and nothing extraordinary.  We do recommend the hariyali pav bhaji {made from green tomatoes}. Also, look out for Nutella pizza and Cookie Monster – baked fresh and on order topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.

The drinks menu {with a few misses} includes mocktails and regular beverages. Though we do recommend the chatka mary if you’re looking for something tangy.

We think it’s a fresh breath of change for the office going people in Fort who’re otherwise surrounded by tall buildings and financial hubs.
