Tell Me More

Vijay Alva is the founder of Vijay Alva’s Fitness Academy {VAFA} and has successfully trained and is still training aspirants who wish to run the Mumbai Marathon every year. Along with the training his students for the Mumbai Marathon, Alva has also been conducting kick boxing and self-defense classes for over 12 years. With his students, he focuses on not only helping them lose weight, but also become fitter and healthier.

A typical day of exercise includes cross-functional training with an average calorie burn of 450 kcal per class with a focus on an all muscle workout, core strengthening, agility and muscle endurance apart from burning fat. In his kick-boxing classes, the muscle-sculpting exercises work your arms, shoulders, abs, thighs, and butt in one calorie busting workout to tone you faster. These sessions not just get your physically fit, but also increase your metabolism, stamina and energy, but also make you energy resistent.

Anything Else?

06012017_vijayalvafitness02Priced at INR 3,000 per month, these classes are conducted between Monday to Friday, and depending on your requirements, you can select the form of workout you would like. The vision of the academy is to get more and more people to maintain a healthy style of living and treat their workouts as a part of their lives, and not something that they have to do just to lose weight, along with a wholesome balanced diet without starving oneself {yes, you get tips on what to eat, a diet plan, constant focus on your BMI, etc.}.

Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays involve more cross-functional training and the classes are conducted at 6am at the Shivaji Park Grounds. The Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday classes involve kick-boxing and are conducted at 7.15am at the Bengal Club, Shivaji Park.
