Authentic, not-so-intimidating & cosy! These are the three factors that best describe the newly opened Asian fare restaurant - Ping's Cafe Orient. After winning hearts in Delhi's Vasant Vihar, this Asian restaurant has finally made its way to aamchi Mumbai!
Dramatic with a jazzy hoarding that flashes right at the centre of the busy Lower Parel street makes this restaurant easily noticeable! The minute you enter, you'll be welcomed by rustic lamps, a bright wall adorned with beautiful well-shot photographs and wooden decor. Ping's maintains a perfect balance between a cafe-style space and a fine-dine. Not too casual, nor too fancy, it's a cosy space that approaches Asian fare in a non-intimidating way.
From sooting soups and healthy salads to substantial baos and dim sums, their well-curated menu brings dishes from prominent Asian countries including Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Burma, Japan and the Philippines. From Korean fried chicken bao to comforting Edmamme truffle and noodles - their Asian fare is full of flavours that don't leave you confused. And yes, they have good cocktails... really good cocktails! I highly recommend Ping's 75, a concoction of gin, yuzu cordial and sparkling wine! Likewise, you can also opt for their Saigon Sour!
All in all, if you love Asian cuisine and are looking for a hearty meal with great portions, Ping's in Lower Parel is a must-visit. Oh, and right next to this is PCO (Pass Code Only), a popular speakeasy bar in Delhi, that's also made its way to Mumbai!
